VISCOM Video Edit Pro ActiveX SDK

This is a component that can add video/audio editing capability to your application.

This one is for Windows developers who need to edit video encoded in MPEG as well as audio. You can integrate the component into any application in one of the languages c#, vb.net , vb, delphi, vfp, access etc. that can take on an ActiveX component. It can transcode video to MPEG1, MPEG2, VCD-PAL ,VCD-NTSC, SVCD-PAL, SVCD-NTSC, DVD-PAL, DVD-NTSC etc. usual setting are available, that include video, audio bit rate, audio sample rate, audio channels etc. The preview player available is quite a help, you know exactly what you are getting. The end user will be able to play with more than 50 effects to enliven the video clips when converting to another format. You are going to need the Windows Movie maker. It would be possible to export video frames to Picture Box, HBitmap. If the user wanted to resize the video, that should be possible too.

The interface created by the component is quite intuitive. Beside two text boxes for selecting the video and audio files. The start time and the stop times are indicated. The main area has a preview player. The player has the expected play, pause and stop controls. The end user would be able to maintain aspect ratio or choose to have full screen display, the play time is indicated alongside. Settings panel is tabbed; settings for AVI, MPEG and WMV conversions are available. Output choices include "stretched to fit", "no resize", "resize preserving aspect ratio" and "resize crop". Then it is a simple click on the "convert" button and you are done! What would have been very useful was a log area for displaying all the events that may happen during conversion, it is not provided in this version of the component.
